ArtScope is a summer arts day camp for children held on the campus of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Enrollment is open for children ages 8-12 for the two-week, all-day program, which will be held June 5-16, 2017.
Day campers will be able to study drawing, painting, sculpting, theatre, dance, and music as well as experience a presentation from a guest artist. ArtScope instructors have extensive experience as both teaching and performing artists.
The following highly qualified teachers for each area of ArtScope 2017 are:
- Theatre - Robert Story
- Visual Arts - Amber Heilman, Allison Ledford, Adam Heilman
- Music - Crystal Wyatt
- Dance - Emily Hector Godwin
- STUDIO - Carrie Chavers
The Co-Directors are Emily Hector Godwin and Jeanie Lee.
ArtScope will be a great way to experience the arts from real artists and to learn how artists think and create while having fun.
Funding for ArtScope scholarships is provided by the Oklahoma Arts Council (OAC), National Endowment for the Arts, businesses and individuals.
Student scholarships are available for students who are eligible to receive free or reduced lunches at school and agree to attend camp every day.
Other scholarships are also available for students who do not qualify for the school lunch program but who might otherwise have difficulty attending camp without assistance.
The scholarship application deadline is May 1, 2017. All remaining scholarships will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis after the deadline.
